Questions families ask
My family always had Goldens — my first dog, Bella, lived with us for 14 wonderful years and shaped everything I know about the breed. After volunteering with a Golden Retriever rescue in Vilnius for several years, I wanted to dedicate myself to producing a small number of carefully planned litters with the temperament and health that families fall in love with. My goal isn't volume — it's raising 1-2 well-thought-out litters a year where every puppy goes to a family that genuinely fits them.
Every breeding dog is health-tested well beyond LKD requirements — full OFA hip and elbow evaluations, annual cardiac exams by a board-certified cardiologist, eye exams, and a complete DNA panel covering all breed-specific concerns. From day 3, puppies follow an ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) protocol, and by 8 weeks they've experienced dozens of textures, sounds, household appliances, and gentle interactions with vets, groomers, and children. They're confident, curious, and ready for their forever home.
All my Goldens live in the house with me and my family — they're not in a kennel or outdoor run. They sleep on the sofa, follow us into the kitchen, and have access to a fully fenced garden. Puppies are born in our living room and raised underfoot from day one, which is why they adapt so quickly to new homes. Visitors are always welcome to meet the parents in person before deciding.
For Golden Retrievers, I follow the comprehensive LKD and Golden Retriever Club of America recommended panel: Hip Dysplasia (OFA), Elbow Dysplasia (OFA), annual Cardiac evaluation by a board-certified cardiologist (registered with OFA), annual Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA), and a full DNA Disease Panel including Ichthyosis, NCL5, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), and prcd-PRA. All test results are documented and shared with every buyer before any deposit is taken.
Every puppy comes with a written contract including a 2-year health guarantee against hereditary conditions, microchip, full vaccination set appropriate for age, vet health check, and lifetime breeder support. I also include a lifetime return clause — if at any point in their life a buyer cannot keep the dog, I will take them back, no questions asked. The dogs I bring into the world will always have a home with me if they need it.

Kliukai

I'm Greta, the breeder behind Kliukai Golden Retrievers in Vilnius, Lithuania. For over a decade I've been deeply involved with the breed — first as a Golden owner, then as a Golden Retriever Club volunteer, and finally as a registered breeder under LKD/FCI. My program focuses on a small number of carefully planned litters each year, with health, temperament, and strong working ability as the guiding values. Every puppy is raised in our home alongside our family, exposed daily to children, household life, and the world they'll soon be part of. I'm not interested in producing as many puppies as possible — I'm interested in producing the right ones, for families who will love them for their entire life.
